Sweet Adelines
International is a worldwide organization of women singers committed
to advancing the musical art form of barbershop harmony through education
and performances. This independent, nonprofit music education association
is one of the world's largest singing organization for women. "Harmonize
the World" is the organization's motto.
The international
membership of nearly 27,000 women, all singing in English, includes
choruses in all fifty of the United States as well as in Australia,
Canada, England, Finland, Germany, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Scotland,
Sweden and the Netherlands. The organization encompasses more than
1,200 registered quartets and 600 choruses.
International
convention and competition is held annually, providing both a competition
arena for the organization's best quartets and choruses and an educational
experience for members from around the world. Thousands of Sweet Adelines
gather in the convention city to participate in and learn from this
exciting competition, which selects the international champion quartet
and chorus. Shows, education classes and meetings are also an important
part of the convention.
Harmony
Bazaar is the sales area at international convention where exhibitors
can demonstrate and sell their products or services. Items such as
jewelry, clothing, health products, cosmetics, recordings and educational
items are featured each year. Seventy-five percent of our exhibitors
return for this selling opportunity year after year.

Harmony Bazaar
This year's Harmony Bazaar will be located at the Cobo Conference
and Exhibition Center which is adjacent to the Cobo Arena. The competitions
and shows will be held in the Cobo Arena.

Sales Tax For Harmony Bazaar Vendors
For vendors in Harmony Bazaar, the sales tax is 6%. The forms are
downloadable and are submitted after the event is held. There are
no licenses or permits issued. The reporting forms are Form
#2271, Concessionaire's Sales Tax Return and Payment, located at www.michigan.gov/treasury.
On the home page click on the left side, Business, click in center
of next page, Sales/Use Tax, left click Forms & Instructions,
2004 Forms, and look for Form #2271.
