Class Time: 1 hour
Description of Class: Using musical theater techniques to write character
driven emcee packages; developing character on paper.

Class Title: More than A Chorus Line
Class Time: 1 hour
Description: Using freezes, tableaus, movement sequences, use of mime,
use of shapes, changing the “shape” of the chorus, staging
an movement principles to dramatically involve the chorus.
Class Topic: Writing and performing direct emcee spots
Class Title: Communication With Your Audience
Class Time: 1 hour
Description: How to write emcee spots that are more than just jokes;
and performance techniques utilizing dialogue, focal points, public
speaking techniques; through leading them in some writing exercises,
brainstorming approaches an onstage exercises.

Class Title: Helping to Tell the Story
Class Time: 2 hours
Description: (1st hour) Finding and developing a specific character
that fits into the chorus plan, asking th right questions,finding
the character’s intentions and creating a “beat sheet.
(2nd hour) Using effort shapes , physicalization and essences to create
and play a character different from yourself.

Description: How to build a scene sequence (package) from idea of
song, to finished performance, using story boards, chorus contributions,
scenarios, character stories, chorus character exrcises, choral beat

Class Topic: Preparing chorus members for musical theatre performing
Class Title: Playing Games
Class Time: 1 hour
Description: Acing exercises to prepare chorus members for character
work. Exercises will focus on concepts of onstage focus, stge orientation,
character development. These theatre games are designed to fit into
small moments before or during rehearsals. The class will consist
of participants learning the games/exercises through playing them.(New

Class Topic: Understanding the Expression category
Class Title: Painting from the Epression Paintbox
Class Time: 1 hour
Description: Looking at and defining the expression category, discovering
the tools that will aid in the expression category, experiencing implementing
those tools and the difference it makes. This class works with a demonstration
chorus.
Class Topic: Using movement for Vocal Production
Class Title: Head and Shoulders, Knees and Toes
Class Time: 1 hour
Description: Many choruses are afraid of musical theatre work out
of fear of what the movement it will do to the sound. This class will
show how movement can be used so that it doesn’t hurt the vocal
production, but actually helps achieve it. We will address physical
aspects of vocal production both in rehearsal ad performance

Class Title: Keeping Your Energy Up
Class Time: 1hour
Description: Performance requires energy. Good performances demand
a high level of energy. Outstanding performances both demand and generate
huge flows of energy. This class will help singers understand the
energy blocks, and give singers procedures to build and increase the
energy in their performances.

Description: This class will help to impress upon singers the advantage
of working with a scenario, and to give them the techniques to write

Description: This is a workshop with a demonstration chorus. Using
theatre skills and techniques, we will work on building a moving,
expressive interpretation of a ballad.

Description: This class will inspire singers to seek excellence by
guiding performers and directors to take personal responsibility and
establish the habits and the vision of success.

Description: This class will help performers in creating and working
with characters, and show them how to carry these characters into
the songs.

Description: Exercises to help performers feel at home onstage and
identify what is holding them back, develop a plan to overcome their
hesitancy and practice the steps.

Description: A class for directors and choreographers. Using acting
exercises to prepare directors and their choruses for character work
using onstage focus, stage orientation and character development.

Description: A class for directors. Finding and developing a specific
character that firs into the chorus’ plan. Using the director’s
leadership in character to help with concepts of onstage focus, stage
