The Harbor City Music Company Show Chorus originally chartered 35
years ago as the Elkridge Chorus, and then merged in 2000 with Towson
Valley Chorus to become the chorus it is today.
The chorus has a diverse membership of women ranging in age from 21-80
years old. They come from all walks of life including nurses, computer
scientists, lawyers, homemakers, department of defense civilians and
schoolteachers. There are three mother and daughter teams and two
pairs of sisters among the membership, and one member who drives two-and-a-half
hours one-way to rehearsal each week. That’s dedication for
you!
There are four quartets stemming from the chorus; CAPRI placed 8th
in the 2005 International Quartet Competition and will be singing
first in las Vegas; VOGUE and TAG, who placed 2nd and 5th, as well
as LUSTRE, who won the Novice Quartet award in the 2006 Sweet Adelines
International regional contest.
Singing at the Harmony Classic audience goes down as one of the most
memorable moments in the history of the Harbor City Music Company
Show Chorus.
