Tips on Chorus and Quartet
Photographs:
The
Full Chorus Photo
Full
chorus photos are taken on
stage during performances.
The official full chorus photograph
from each round of competition
is available in a variety
of sizes and prices. The photographer
strives to capture each chorus
during its closing pose to
give competitors a story-telling,
action photo that shows the
faces of as many chorus members
as possible and has the director
facing the camera. This action
photo captures the essence
of the international competition
experience although it may
not show the face of every
member.
The Chorus Proof Set
Another option available to
competing choruses is the
proof set. It includes approximately
10 4-inch x 6-inch, machine-printed
candid photos, taken on the
international stage during
competition. These photos
are taken in the photo-journalistic
style and tell stories about
the chorus and its competition
experience. Individual chorus
members may purchase prints.
Choruses may purchase them
to project accurate images
of the art form and chorus
in promotional materials and
publicity.
The
Posed Quartet Photo
A posed quartet photograph
is taken on site preceding
each round of performance.
The session is long enough
for four posed photos to be
made. It is the responsibility
of a competing quartet to
practice its poses prior to
facing the camera. Poses may
range from traditional to
comedic, depending upon the
quartetís needs and its personality.
The
Quartet Proof Set
Another option available to
competing quartets is the
proof set. It includes approximately
10 4-inch, machine-printed
candid photos, taken on the
international stage during
competition. These photos
are taken in the photo-journalistic
style and they tell stories
about the quartet and its
competition experience.
