Class Title: Get into the Groove – and MOVE!
Class Time: 1.5 hours
Description: Class focuses on identifying the inhibitors to movement,
and incorporates exercises geared to break down movement barriers
and get the class participants grooving and freeing up their bodies.
Class includes listening to different styles of music, and much audience
participation.
Target Audience: Visual Leaders/Choreographers, Musical Leaders, General

Title: Energize & Harmonize
Class Time: 1.5 hours
Description: An exploration of the importance of energy to a barbershop
performance, and ways to identify the energy thieves as well as how
to infuse energy. Class includes viewing video performances, demonstrations
and audience participation.

“Shake Your Groove Thing: Show ‘Em How We Do It”
Class Time: 1.5 hours
Description: Class focuses on the who, what, when, how & why of
performance & movement in barbershop. Class includes demonstrations
and audience participation.

Title: The “How To’s” of Designing an Effective
Visual Plan
Class Time : 1 hour
Description: Class focuses on defining and examining the elements
of an effective visual plan, and then provides opportunity to create/design
a plan. Class includes audience participation and viewing videos to
identify how to best design the “eye” part of audience
communication.
Target Audience: Visual Leaders/Choreographers

Title: Chocolate & Peanut Butter – The Ideal Partnership
: How the Director & Choreographer Work Together
Class Time: 1 hour
Description: The barbershop style includes both the musical performance
and the visual performance. Ideally, these two are not “separate”,
distinct entities; instead, they ultimately become “one”,
so that the visual plan enhances the music. The goal, therefore, is
to have the director and choreographer work as a unit.

Title: What is this Showmanship Thing All About?
Class Time: 75 minutes
Description: Class examines the elements of the showmanship category
as set by Sweet Adelines International and analyzes effective showmanship
in the barbershop style, as well as other styles. Class incorporates
viewing videos.

Title: How To Sing a Great Bass
Class Time: 1 hour
Description: Class examines the characteristics of singing the bass
part well. First we look at the elements of good singing and then
we delve into “bass” specific aspects. The role of the
bass is discussed, and tips and tools are offered to assist individual
singers to become better barbershop bass singers. Class includes demonstrations
and audience participation.

Title: The “How To’s” of Successful Quartet Life
Class Time: 75 minutes
Description: This class examines various strategies and considerations
for a quartet to achieve a successful experience – however they
define success! Key elements covered are goal setting, rehearsal planning,
communication skills, finances, developing an image/style and marketing
the quartet. Class encourages audience participation and discussion.
Target Audience: Quartet Members

Title: One Step Beyond -How To Get Your Quartet To the Next Level
Class Time: 75 minutes
Description: This class examines various strategies and considerations
for a quartet to improve and advance toward unit goals. Class includes
discussion of: the relationship of the voice parts and encourages
better understanding of the music; the understanding of the JCDB;
how to effectively use coaching; the importance of improving communication
skills; and the need for psychological preparation.

Title: Script Writing/Show Packaging
Class Time: 1.5 hours
Description: Class explores the elements of an effective performance/show
package and highlights the important elements of the show script.
Class includes interactive exercises.

Description: Class examines techniques and resources that can be utilized
